The School of ICASA, the UK Sexual Healing Centre for training in
intimacy, sexual healing and relationship skills, opened in 1994.
The founders, David and Jane Brown, had studied the methods
of Masters and Johnson, the Sex Therapy Institute of Boston, and in
particular the role of Surrogate Partner Therapy, receiving relevant
specialised training with IPSA (International Professional
Surrogates Association). Along with their years of training in
rehabilitation for addictions as well as impotence they created
their sexual training modules, which they called Inward Confidence
and Sensual Awareness – ICASA.
