Surrogate Partner Therapy

Training Courses:

v      The Initial Surrogate Partner and Mentor Training Courses are conducted over a twelve month period consisting of a combined programme of learning through seminars, self development through workshops and practical intimacy including bodily experience through Surrogate Partner Training Weekends.

v      Successful attendance, suitability and aptitude over a determinant period of training through the seminar, workshop and training elements of the overall programme is followed by a six month internship at The School of ICASA in Bedfordshire during which the intern will work as a trainee Surrogate Partner under supervision by an ICASA Mentor;

v      Successful trainees who complete the twelve month Induction Training will be attended by Graduation Certification and may be offered a contract for six or twelve months as a surrogate partner within the Sexual Healing Team at The School of ICASA;

v ICASA Training Courses and Programmes include literature, manuals and CD’s.

Internship

Following the ICASA Training Modules for Surrogate Partner Therapy, graduates receive a certificate authenticating successful completion of the Induction Training Course.   As a continuation of training, and as a form of supervised Internship, newly graduated trainees may be offered a contract to work as a Surrogate Partner within the therapeutic team at The School of ICASA.  Internship contracts are granted for a period of six or twelve months initially, dependent upon individual aptitude, circumstances and personal considerations.

 

Contracted

After successful completion of the Induction Training Course followed by at least six months supervised internship, the qualified Surrogate Partner Therapist will receive certification to show that he or she has attained the level required by of ICASA to be recognised as a trained Surrogate Partner.  At this stage, graduates may be offered a contract to work at the School of ICASA for a further twelve month period, which may also be renewable at the end of each contracted period. 

 

Accreditation

At the completion of internship and a period of contracted engagement at The School of ICASA, accreditation is available to suitable graduates, enabling them to ultimately work as integral part of an independent regional surrogate partner therapy centre in conjunction with an ICASA trained therapist, or mentor.  

The School of ICASA may refer clients to such accredited therapist/surrogate partner teams and, additionally, such teams may attract referrals through their own initiatives.   Further postgraduate training seminars and conferences are available to deepen the skills, understanding and effectiveness of the surrogate partner therapists and mentors.  

Post Graduate Training

Further team training, seminars, workshops and conferences are available to deepen the skills, understanding and effectiveness of surrogate partners, facilitators, therapists and mentors.
